As part of our 99th birthday celebrations, we held a disco in the hall which was decorated with a ‘happy birthday’ theme.  The children were invited to bring along a handmade card to the school as their ticket in, and we had glow accessories for sale too.  It was a fantastic night.  Thank you to the Home & School team who organised another successful event for our school community.

photo 1.1As part of our technology topic this term the junior school have made boats. The brief: boats must float for 5 minutes.  Room 1 tested their boats on Friday and they had a 100% success rate!  What a lot of kiwi ingenuity we have in our school!  See more photos on our facebook page.

IMG_20140604_105923This week the senior syndicate walked down the Te Henui Walkway to East End on the lookout for bridges of all shapes, sizes, and construction as part of their term topic.  Do you know how many bridges there are along the track?  Did you know that Ara Puawhai means ‘pathway of enlightenment’?  That’s certainly what the journey was all about for these amazing students!

haroldThe Life Education Trust has been at school this week with each syndicate learning a different topic.  This is a mobile classroom that comes around every year with specialised teachers.

The Junior School topic is “Harold’s Picnic”

Middle School topic is “I’m Different”

Senior School topic is “Brainy Bunch”- a focus on the brain.
