Highlights include: Tumuaki (principal) introduction, Home & School AGM, sports uniforms, sports news, road works and crossings.

We are excited to have our new principal Mr Jeremy Ogle start this term with a  special Vogeltown welcome held on Monday.  He’s had a busy week already getting to know where everything is and who everyone is!  We look forward to Jeremy sharing his obvious enthusiasm for learning and growing with us.

Principal Appointment

The Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Mr Jeremy Ogle in the role as our new Principal at the beginning of Term 2.  Jeremy comes to us from Highlands Intermediate with a wealth of leadership and teaching experience behind him. His  desire to continue the great progress Vogeltown has achieved, left as a legacy by our previous principal Mark Luff is evident when talking to him.  He values holistic learning as we do.  We trust you, as our school community, will join us in making Jeremy feel right at home.  When you see him helping our road patrollers, at the gate or in the classroom, don’t be shy in saying hello – that’s the VS Way!

Mark Luff

luff 10 - CopyIt was with sadness that we said farewell to Mr Mark Luff at the end of last year.  Mark had been at the helm of Vogeltown School for 9 years and in that time saw the roll grow from 120 to over 300 students.

His easy going style of leadership allowed students and staff alike to flourish with his ‘work hard – play hard’ attitude.  His passion for the students and their learning was evident by his commitment to his role as principal.

He was never one to shy away from hard work, or to get stuck in with the students on the field.  His jokes and antics around school will not be forgotten quickly – except the jokes maybe…

“He is a great principal and always looks after us kids, and makes sure we are safe.”

“His jokes are so funny!”photo 41

” He is an inspiring leader, always ready to listen to ideas, and let people run with them. I wish him all the best for his journey at Highlands.”

We wish Mark all the very best for his new position as principal at Highlands xc2Intermediate, and he will be sorely missed.

From the team at Vogeltown.
