On Friday the 19th of Feb, we had our Annual ‘Vogeltown Adventure’. This is a day where the whole school goes on an ‘adventure’ within our community.
This year we focused on our river, the Huatoki which runs behind the school and in to town. This is part of our localised curriculum – for every Vogeltown learner to be more aware of their surroundings and our schools surroundings. We are very lucky where we live in New Plymouth.Every VS learner went down in to the Huatoki domain, Passed our special carvings, passed over Paetoki (our special rock) and in to town. In town we visited sites that many of our learners have not been to – St Mary’s church, Huatoki Plaza, The Foreshore, Puke Ariki landing, Pukaka (Marsland) Hill and walking the path to town. It was an awesome day!
